Walter, later of Ellerscaye, may have been born
in about 1275, and was probably the son of Nicholas of Farndale and Ellrischaye. He perhaps grew up in the area of Ellers House
today, a little way up the west side of the dale.

paid 2s and 2d in the Lay Subsidy of 1301 (FAR00029).

Walter might have died by about 1340.
