Clara Farndale, daughter of Thomas and Sarah (nee Pugh) Farndale (FAR00474) was born in Darlington District on 18 May 1902 (1939 Register) and baptised at Cleasby on 15 June 1902 (Cleasby PR). Clara Farndale’s birth was registered at Darlington District in the second quarter of 1902 (GRO Vol 10a page 4).

Bertie Auton was the son of Robert Auton (1864 to 1935) and Ellen Terry (1861 to 1952) and was born on 20 June 1899 in Leyburn, Wensleydale. He was a Private in the Labour Corps during the First World War and was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
