Catherine Ditchburn was born on 18 March 1919 in Gateshead (1939 Register, GRO Vol 10a page 1433). Her mother’s
maiden name was Carroll. She was possibly the daughter of Ann Carroll (1921 Census).

She probably married into the
South Shields 2 Line in about 1945, but I have found no record of the
marriage and can’t identify who she married.
She had ten children between 1947 and 1954 (including quadruplets), many
of whom died in infancy or at birth.
1966
Catherine Farndale died age 45, in 1966 and her death was registered
in Newcastle upon Tyne in the first quarter of 1966 (GRO
Vol 1b page 211).
