the Baker family through marriage to Arthur Baker |
1786
Jane Baker was the daughter of
William and Sarah (nee Bagnall) Baker (FAR00084).
She was baptised on 30 November 1786 at St Peter Ad Vincula, Stoke on Trent (St Peter Ad Vincula, Stoke on
Trent Parish Records).

This is odd since William Baker
died in November 1785, but the record seems clear. Perhaps there was some administrative
error in recording the dates.
Jane, married * Brown (sic?), and died 7 April 1855,
leaving issue, four sons (of whom Charles married his cousin, Frances Smith
Bridgwood) (Burke, John and Burke,
Sir Bernard (1836)(Eighteenth Edition, 1972), Bellyse Baker of Highfields
in Burke’s Landed Gentry, Volume 3, pages
35 to 38).
1808
A Jane Baker married Edward
Warrant at St Peter Ad Vincula, Stoke on Trent on 18 November 1808 (St Peter Ad Vincula, Stoke on
Trent Parish Records). As this Jane Baker left
a mark and could not sign, this was probably a different Mary Baker.

1855
According to Burke’s, she died on
7 April 1855.
