Eileen Farndale was born at Huttons Ambo (census) on 26 August 1914 (1939 Register). No record has been found of her birth but census suggests she was a granddaughter of James Farndale (FAR00427). I still need to identify her father.

1949

There appears to have been a sea vessel which bore her name at the time: Sunderland Daily Echo and Shipping Gazette, 14 January 1949: FLAMBOROUGH HOTEL. FROM LLOYD’S HAILING STATION. Passed North Today … Ellen M Farndale (after pulling back). North East Shipping News (could this be a ship named after her?).
