I had wrongly assumed him to be son of Wilfred and Kathleen (nee Dawson)
Farndale (FAR00766).
John was born in Nelson, Lancashire in the fourth quarter of 1942 and
died in 1957. However, a mistake in the England and Wales Civil Registration
Marriage Index shows that Christopher Darling married a 'John' M Farndale when
it should have read 'Joan' (FAR00951). This may have confused the issue as therafter 'John' (not Joan) would not appear in any more
records as a Farndale as he/she was now a 'Darling'.

age 14 at Worth Valley District, Yorkshire in the second quarter of 1957
(DR).
