Chichester Observer, 18 February 1925: A pretty wedding was solemnised at the Church of Saint Peter the Great on Saturday. The Rev P R B Brown officiated. The bride was Miss Constance May Burls, and the bridegroom Mr Albert Henry Coombes. The bride was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss J Farndale and Miss E Hoad, and was given away by Mr G J Farndale. The best man was Mr W Hoad. The happy couple received numerous presents.

She was attended by 5 bridesmaids... who wore ankle length dresses pale mauve satin, with ruched ribbon to match and white satin shoes.... The three younger attendants, …and the Misses Joan and Irene Farndale, nieces at the bridegroom, were attired in the same style with pale pink ankle length dresses. All carried bouquets of pink tulips... Mr G Farndale, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, acted as best man...
