Henry Farndale was born in Malton in 1897, the son of John McLean and Alice Farndale (FAR00493). He took his surname from his mother (see the census records).

 

1901

 

The Census of 1901 for 2 Spittle Street, Malton reported: John McLean, 33, agricultural labourer; Alice McLean, 33; Elizabeth Farndale, 12, daughter, born Norton in 1889; John William Farndale, son, 8, born Malton 1893; Henry Farndale, 4, son, born Malton 1897; Edward Farndale, son, 2 born Malton 1899.

He may have married Lily Robison at about this time.

 

1931

 

Henry Farndale may have died on 20 November 1931.

 

The Hull Daily Mail, 23 November 1931: ROBINSON. Nov 20th, at 94 Hardy Streety, Henry I Farndale, loving husband of Lily Robinson. Cortege leaves for service at Newland Church, 2 o’clock, Tuesday, prior to internment at Northern Cemetery.

 

The Yorkshire Post and Leeds Intelligencer, 30 December 1931: Mr Henry Isaac Farndale Robinson, of Hardy Street, Hull (net personality £1,222) … £1,529.

 

If this was not him, then there is a Henry Farndale who died in 1952.
