Jane Farndale daughter of Wilson and Margaret Farndale (FAR00227), carpenter, was baptised at Norton, County Durham on 2 April 1833 (Norton PR & IGI).

Norton is NE of Stockton-on-Tees.

Jane Farndale, age 18; unmarried; dressmaker; daughter of Wilson and Margaret Farndale (FAR00227).

1853

 

Jane Farndale, a dressmaker, aged 20, daughter of Wilson Farndale, a labourer residing at Lythe, married John Hunter, a gardener aged 22, son of James Hunter, a farmer also residing at Lythe. The marriage was on 13 August 1853 at the Parish Church at Lythe.

 

1892

 

Her daughter, Maria Hunter died aged only 26 in 1892:

 

Whitby Gazette, 2 September 1892: DEATHS. August 19th, at Waggon Way, Alnwick, aged 26 years, Maria, fourth daughter of Mr John Hunter, and grand-daughter of the late Margaret Farndale, of Lythe.

 

1902

 

In 1902, Jane published an In Memoriam in the Whitby Gazette, 10 January 1902 for her late mother:

 

In memory of my dear mother, Margaret Farndale, widow of Wilson Farndale, who died at Lythe, January 2nd, 1882.

1906

 

Their eldest daughter, M A Welch died in 1906:

 

Whitby Gazette, 13 July 1906: DEATHS. June 2nd, 1906, M A Welch, eldest daughter of John and Jane Hunter, Alnwick Moor, and grand daughter of the late Margaret Farndale, Lythe. Rest in Peace.

 

1909

 

Janey’s husband died in 1909:

 

Whitby Gazette, 13 August 1909: July 28th, at Alnwick Moor, aged 82 years, John Croser Hunter, husband of Janey Farndale, Lythe, only daughter of the late Margaret Farndale.

 

1911

Jane Hunter, a widow, born at Stockton (which is where Norton is) was living on her own at Stella Cottage, Alnwick, Northumberland, by private means.

 

1916

 

Jane Hunter, born 1833, died at Alnwick in the second quarter of 1916.
