John Farndale was baptised at Brotton on 5 October 1755, the son of William and Mary Farndale (FAR00146) (Brotton PR & IGI).

John referred to as “John Farndale Junior” in Kilton Records. This may have been to distinguish him from John Farndale (1750 to 1825)(FAR00167), who was also farming in Kilton at the time.

 

1787

John Farndale, of the Parish of Guisborough, husbandman, married Hannah Wilson of the Parish of Guisborough, spinster, by Banns at Guisborough Parish Church on 17 May 1787 in the presence of Ann Young, and William Farndale. John was 32. (Guisborough PR)

Hannah Farndale, the daughter of John and Hannah Farndale, was baptised at Great Ayton, on 9 July 1788 (FAR00211). John was a farmer. (Great Ayton PR)

Grace Farndale, daughter of John and Hannah Farndale, was baptised at Liverton on 26 February 1792 (FAR00219) (Liverton PR).

By 1794, John was farming in Kilton.


Wilson Farndale, son of John Farndale of Kilton Jnr and Hannah, was baptised at Brotton, on 26 October 1794 (FAR00227) (Brotton PR).

 

1797

Joanna Farndale, daughter of John and Hannah Farndale of Kilton, was born Brotton on 13 January and baptised 14 February 1797 (FAR00233) (Brotton PR).

 

1798

Sarah Farndale, daughter of John Farndale, farmer of Kilton, and Hannah Farndale was baptised Brotton on 5 October 1798 (FAR00238) (Brotton PR).

 

1799

John Farndale, son of John and Hannah Farndale of Kilton, farmer, was baptised on 24 January 1799 (FAR00240) (Brotton PR).

John Farndale of Brotton aged 73 was buried on 26 October 1829
